CPU/Mobo this mb kicking my a**

hey friends

i went in to help a buddy for his xp installation problem with his new simmtronics 845gv mobo, despite repeated suggestions to get a new procy n mobo he got himself s this new mobo, to save his cost to upgrade ram.

now he is using p4 2.4 intel procy . windows 98 is working fine but xp installation hangs when the garphic part of the inatallation starts. v even got the mobo replaced n got another piece, but all in vain.

Cant you upgrade 98 to xp? Did you try doing that?

when trying to upgrade it says

set up found harware on ur PC that might not work with Xp.

Hmm this is totally weird. I cant think of much options. What file system are you formatting the partition to install XP?
