Throtteling of Band width- how to overcome

In Shimla-I have a cable (Broadband)- On a LAN by a cable wallah= Rs. 700 PM whatever I can download. Earlier it used to be OK for downloads and sometimes Download will reach 50-60 KB sec, but since past one week the downloads seem to throttled and never ever reach even 25 KB sec.

All pleas have failed- demand is for Rs. 1400 for better Bandwidth. BSNL is hardly an option- the service of BSNL simply sucks.

Is there any way I can get better downloads thru some software tricks/thru a download manager ? Help needed please.

What is teh speed u signedup for?

25Kbps =25x8bits=200kbps.

So if u signed for 256kbps, u r ok as there is a Uplink & downlink ratio. SO u r getting UL50kbps & DL 200kbps which is normal.

If u signed up for lesser, u r having a good time & enjoy it.
