Since Nobody was responding, I think this title would surely grab some attention. Now please read below. :ohyeah:My sister is currently in New Zealand and she tells me that they've got some Labor Day and Christmas and all sort of festivities coming and there will be some superb discounts on almost every electronics contraption out there. :hap2:
So now me being the Tech head of the family has been tasked to find out and tell her the best Digital Camera AND HandyCam which is truly a VFM article. Remember I need both and since I dunno much about Cameras and Camcorders, I'm here to "sucka blur" outta ur Grey Matter
Mine preference for DigiCam is nothing but by nothing I don't mean that u folks start suggestin' me DSLRs and SLRs. I ain't gonna do any modeling photoshoot. I think a mid-end budget solution would do just fine here. As for Handycam, I want it to do at least 720P @ 60FPS. Since I dunno about their prices or better manufacturer, please help me out here. :ashamed: All I know is that there are 2 types of lenses, Convex and Concave and in case of a Camera its either Carl Zeiss or Leica.

R u implying that I can do both, still photography and Video recording at res of 720P @60FPS, all from one device? If such is the case then please illustrate more.

After few deliberations, I've decided to get the DigiCam from here India itself but still gonna need ur advice for the Camcorder. I don't need FullHD, all I need is one that can do 720P @60FPS or at least at 30FPS. :(

A digital camera can record videos and a handycam can capture photos...

But the quality is not that good..

Videos of digicam could not be compared to camcorders.. and vice versa for photos....

About digital camera- Since u didnt mentioned the budget//

so

If U need good zoom range go for Panasonic FZ28/35 or Canon SX10 ....

If zoom doesnt matters for U, but RAW do go for Canon G10...G11 is also about to come....

If investment is just about 10K, then market is flooded with those cameras,, pick the one U find best...Comparison is never ending....

Thanks mate but now my main aim is a HD Camcorder and I'm repeating myself by saying that it should be a 720P capable machine as don't need a FullHD one right now. If u want the budget then its 20K for Camcorder. Now does this price range offers something that I would like?

again the fz25 does 720p .. you can youtube or vimeo the camera model and see some samples.... it is good except for a minor irritant ...a streak of violet covers a pixel length when facing any strong source of light , that is due to ccd sensor ( i guess) ....

now in 20 k you can go in for flip type of camcorder , but not a regular camcorder doing 720p
