Awesome man post some more if You have and any products that really impressed you??how about a short runthrough of the event

cool pics dude! I think one more expo (featuring audio, video, games hardware) is coming up in october. Forgot the dates though...

IMO the show this year was a total let down with video taking the majority of the show.

For audio enthusiats there was nothing more apart from the likes of LG/Samsung etc.. (boom box types)

Yamaha, Onkyo, Jamo, Avant garde, Mission where the only places for audio people.

The number of participants went down this year as compared to last year.

Even the (so called) demo rooms (i call them demo boxes), were not ready and you can see the people working to setup the demo rooms

In total the whole show was a total disaster and waste of time.

Well, I am not good at reporting :ashamed: , but will definitely try to think of something when I get the time.

The main attraction were the LCD TVs, seems like the LCD craze is fast catching up. The show was staged in a hall and it ended before we even started  , since it was a sunday the place was crowded and there was hardly any space for people to move around freely, it would be nice if the show is held on a large ground with more participants and variety.

the show used to be much better organized and there were more participants involved (this was around 3-4 yrs back when i visited the show for the first time). Well the hall was still the same.

And the demo rooms were actually setup in individual hotel rooms.

Went there with my bro n parents on sunday. My father has a craze for camcorders and he was hoping to see (feel them actually :D ) High Definition camcorders, but it was a total let-down. The only HD camcorder shown in the whole expo was the Sony HDR-SR1 (INR 99990), i was really hoping to see more. Like @shakensoul said the majority of the products shown were LCD's, i really loved the picture quality of those HDTV's. However, the ones we could really afford to buy (if we were to buy :ohyeah: ) were the HD READY ones & not the full HD ones.

As for Digital Cameras I got my hands on the Panasonic FZ-50 & Sony DSC-H9. I was allowed to take few shots with the H9 and the result was real good, even the zoomed ones, which showed effectiveness of the image stabiliser. Moreover, the large LCD is a plus point. Took few shots but the battery ran out :P . AS for the FZ-50 they didn't put the battery with the cam so couldn't see the result. It has a small LCD but the plus point is that the zoom is manual which results in more accurate zoom.

Since i'm not an audiophile, i really can't say much. I was hoping to try out Sennheiser Headsets but they didn't participate this time (i guess, couldn't find them). However, their name was in the list of the participating companies. Got to try out few headsets from AKG, n only 2 from BOSE. By the way, BOSE showed just 2 headsets and 1 speaker, the one which looks like worldspace (can't remember the model). Didn't try out ONKYO, YAMAHA, etc, they were too much for me :P .

This was the first time i went to the expo. It was written in the ads that no cameras were allowed so didn't take one, otherwise i could have shown some shots. I'm not good with writing details but there u go, just trying my best to report watever i experienced.

i find it amusing how all the TV brands are selling HDTVs and people readily buy them thinking their picture quality is immediately gonna improve. little do they they know that they're not gonna get similar resolution video in their homes. i own an HDTV and it's not that hot right now... not in india where both broadcasting and home video are practically limited to SD standards. in fact, my TV channels only look worse on my plasma tv than they did on my older tv since they picture is digitally scaled up which leads to pixelation.

the only way for me to make good use of my plasma tv atm is to hook up my laptop and play downloaded HD content.

of course, if you have a ps3 or an xbox 360, you'll get sharp looking games at full HD resolution but it's pretty bleak for television and video as of now.

+1 from this one.

Not only this also the knowledge about LcD/plasma/HD ready/Full HD among most of the people is very less. All they look for is for a sleek looking, space saving television. quality no bar.

You nailed it! People really do not realize this! Unless one is frequent viewer of DVD/Divx or playing High Res games, buying HDTV now is practically useless. Better to wait for HDTV content to begin in India and then buy maturer and better priced HDTV.

BTW thanks for pics. Now I feel like I have visited expo already :)

well even regular DVDs only contain SD content and in my experience, they didn't look very good on the HDTV. which is understandable, since it has to be scaled up.

however, i've heard that some HDTVs scale SD content better than others so depending on the model, you may see a slight improvement.

on the other hand, i just watched a really well encoded Apocalypto 720p rip this morning :D looked sweet on the TV.
