To Michael! Sony makes an epic ad for gamers

I am not a gamer and apart from the God of War Character i was not able to identify anyone, i too really liked the ad (assuming all others were also characters of some games)

Yes they are indeed characters (mostly protagonists) from the several titles. These were the ones I could identify in no particular order:

Old Snake from MGS 4 (the guy who leans to the wall and the camouflage comes into effect), Chell from Portal 1/2 (the girl running out of a blue portal in the background at ~1:17), Cole MacGrath from inFamous 1/2 (the bald guy wielding the blue'ish power in his hands), Ghost from Modern Warfare 2 (the guy wearing the skull ski mask), Kratos and Athena from the GOW series, Isaac Clarke from Dead Space 1/2 (the guy with the high-tech suit and the helmet with those blue strips of light), Ezio from Assassin's Creed 2/3 (the guy sporting the white and red Roman robes), Agent 47 from the Hitman series (the bald guy with the barcode tattooed at the back of the head) , Nathan Drake from the Uncharted series (the first guy shown at the bar counter) , the Chimera from Resistance series (the alien), Sackboy (that tiny stuffed guy playing chess), Hellghast soldier from the Killzone series and Little Sister from the Bioshock series (the young girl with glowing eyes).
 
Then there was Lightning from Final Fantasy XIII (the chick whom Drake's talking to), Sweet Tooth from Twisted Metal series (the clown with fire on his head), Paul Phoenix from Tekken, Corporal Bill Taylor from Call of Duty 2 & Ratchet from Ratchet & Clank series.
 
Ok I might be a little daft... but what's with the whole "To Michael" thing. I really didn't get that :huh:
