Hey people,

Am not quite sure if the tomato is compatible with the above mentioned router, but i wanted to upload tomato for some monitoring purpose. I searched for this on TE but came up with a sad thread with no reply and it stated Tomato not compatible so which one to use.

Well, guys help me out, which firmware to use or anybody tried tomato on WHR-G125 router and if yes any issues or anything.

Thanks in Advance.

I thought you got Tomato working on your G125 router. So asked you to put lights on it, ie. how did you do it and which speicific version and stuffs.

lol.. and here I was thinking if you wanted me to get some shine some real light and check if it was A g125 :P

Well yeah..

Currently using v1.23.1606
haven't updated to v1.25 yet.. been to lazy.. the flashing procedure is pretty straight forward.. just go through the wiki guide for the tftp batch or create the batch yourself.. reset the modem, ping it to check if it's available, and then ftp the firmware onto it.. wait till all the lights are done flashing and go to 192.168.1.1 to enjoy tomato.. Thats a bit blurry, but I'v forgotten most of the details.. your better of going through the wiki.. lemme know if I can clear something if ya having probs.. but I'm certainly no expert :P

Tomato_1_25_ND.7z (3MB)

» Use this for WHR-G125, WL520GU.
» May not work with some routers, use extra caution.
» See NOTES above.
Tomato_1_25_ND.7z:

This should be fine?

Btw, is the following method enough?

- Wired Connection
- Access the router
- Go to firmware page and uploade the tomato firmware fine
- Wait till its done successfully
- Switch off and disconnect the router
- Hard reset it with paper pin for 30 seconds followed by a power cycle of 10seconds
- Connect everything back up
- after this What will be the ip ie. 11.1(buffalo default) or 1.1?
- Plus the above mentioned ND version is surely compatible? Or the older version is compatible?
- PM me your yahoo/hotmail/gmail id so that we can talk better on this. Will appreciate if you do it.

Tomato works perfectly on the G125. Been using it for close to 2 years now. Just make sure you get the ND version - Tomato Firmware | polarcloud.com

Installation instructions are included, and pretty straightforward

nope.. you can't upgrade the firmware from the default Buffalo firmware page.. you have to ftp the firmware across during the initial bootup of the router..
