Tomb Raider Anniversary Impressions

Well steam released Tomb Raider Underworld Demo for download just a few days back.

Now i found the earlier pretty slick ,so i decided to give this a try :

Pros :

+ The graphics look neat, but no real leap from last time.

+ Water seems more realistic

+ Lara Croft has bigger (.)(.)

But ,

Cons:

- Sucky Mo-Cap . . even the famous swan dive of her's was a bit stiff , maybe she needs warming up :P

- Many bugs ( To say the Least )

For Eg . = = > Super Splits :(

-The actions seemed hurried up (but maybe thats just on my COmp)

So all-in-all . . if they don't do some serious tweaking super fast, i dont think people are going to go for this one. . specially when it coming amongst a hoard of so many badass games :clap:

ok just finished the demo.

It took me 30-40 minutes too to finish the demo. It was a bit hard solving the jumping puzzles.

Impressions:

Positives:

-> Amazing graphics especially the greenery. The demo map is full of greens.

-> Nice background score.

-> Native support for XBOX 360 controller with vibration. No idea about other controllers though.

-> Not that demanding on the hardware. The frame rate dips mainly when the frame contains water.

-> A good variety of weapons in the demo.

Negatives:

-> Puzzles are nice but can be a bit intimidating for newbies.

-> XBOX 360 controls are nice but the left analog stick control seems to stop responding sometimes in the game. Seems like an in-game issue to me.

Screens:















 
is it like the old ones? TR 1 to 4? then i'll give it a shot. the newer games were shit compared to the first 4. things went downhill from 5.

the demo is out for the only purpose to tell you how the game is ...,,,,,so better try the demo :bleh:

no... i wanna know if the demo is worth downloading in the first place. waste of precious bandwidth otherwise.

i haven't played it personally but what i'm hearing is that if you liked legends/anniversary then you should like this.
 
But the demo is seriously bugged. . all the moves, i found so many loop holes in the span of 10 mins . .in this small stage :|

But i guess that is what demos are for. . just hope they get corrected
 
^^ agreed the movements are not that fluid like the earlier games of the series...though i loved the game
