tool for adding subtitle to avi and mkv format videos

Hi

As title suggest, I'm looking for the easy method to hardsub the subtitle into the avi or mkv format. Dont know much about the video formats. Basically need to see the subtitle along with video to play in my ainol v8000hdy.

i had checked the vobsub and videodud but could not understand and could not able to convert.

Please suggest.

use mx_player. it can play subs from mkv, you dont need hardsub.

Using te MXplayer for the same purpose for quite some time now.

For avi files, i use AVI Mux, and fro Mkv files, i use MKV Toolnix
