Was going through the torrent invitations thread in P2P section..There were 13 continuous posts by newbies with not more than 5 posts..And none of them seem interested in the larger scene of the forum..
Was just wondering if some kind of rule like minimum posts say 300 etc be put for that thread, to make sure the forum is not misused for jus Hit and Run purposes and not to mention protection from scammers too...
There is a sticky in the subforum itself, but dont think its of much use..:@
 
+1 for that,annoying jiya or wateva double posted same msg everytime,ppl post noobishly over n over n over again the same thing just to increase post count mods please look into matter
 
ya.. some rules can be applied for such threads.. As like, for getting access, you must have at least one torrent account :D, that u can exchange with other person.

otherwise all will ask for accounts instead of giving!

the thread is there to increase visibility & member count of TE..

try googling for torrent invites... TE is the number one hit all over the net..

mods wont do anything abt it.. its a topic done to death.
 
I dont think its possible to have a post count limitation for just one topic. We obviously cannot implement it for the entire section.

And quite frankly as sTALKEr himself admits the thread increases visibility of TE. So why should we cut down on one thing that does.

People do weird things to get noticed. They spam communities, orkut groups and create controversies to get noticed and attract members. So why cant TE have a passive thread sitting there which increases its visibility.

If, however, there is a feasible solution then it would surely be looked into. Putting rules in place will not ensure compliance until we put someone to monitor it constantly.
 
Why are you behaving desperate enough to be at bitter end of torrent invite exchange?

I mean come on, if you are a regular member at TE who has been around for a while, and one fine day someone offers you a invite in exchange of something that you have, get the invite from the newbie first before giving them the invite.

Or if you wanna give it away, you can give it away to anyone or to a regular member of TE, its your choice.

If the newbies are risking getting skimmed of an invite with other noobie, well we cant do anything regarding the same. Noone can.

Keeping post count limitation for such in demand thread will only invite more spam and wont achieve anything.
 
^AHAHAHAH .. limit ho gayi yaar .. anyways i keeping a post count rule wud make these invite seeking ppl spam TE with some mindless posts which wud be bad ..
