Urgent help required:(
my toshiba laptop fails to boot. i get this on the starup screen

PXE-E61: media test fail, check cable
PXE-MOF: exiting PXE ROM.
tries to boot after it but fails

i even tried to reload xp but it hangs after few minutes into the setup process.
also used linux to gpart live to partition the hard disk and reload xp but no luck
can anybody help in identifying the problem.
cpu is getting hot sometime after power up. its fan is not so dirty when checked from outside.
can i have reliable Mumbai service center number if anyone have it.
this was bought i usa long time back, so no warranty issues.
i dont mind opening it if it is a hardware issue which can be rectified diy.
i dont want to go to the "chip change" guys.

I have the similar laptop. I guess you can switch to the Boot menu through F4 key or F10 key. Once in the menu, you can disable lan boot. Check if that helps.

Also, since its a toshiba, only HCL can help you out.
