I am currently using smart wifi battens and halo iot fan controllers at my parents house and am not really happy with them as they keep losing pairing as we have frequent power cuts and my parents keep turning them on and off when they don't respond and trigger their pairing mode which makes them even more annoyed.
Will these wall mounted plate switches be any better?

Directly connecting the Smart light driver/light fixture or Smart fan controller/fan to a phone is not recommended at all.
I've personally tried testing all BT lights directly to phone, it shall keep disconnecting.
Two options:
1. Touch switch plates.
2. Some BT Hub

1. Touch switch plates. Are available in different brands with different features.

Most common touch switches can turn device On-off (wired connection with light) but cannot Dim, Color control CCT, Color Control RGB the light. Few in the market have such solutions.
I have tested Dimming the Dimmable-led-lights via Light-dimmer- touch switches it works very well.
Tuning CCT or Color RGB controllers are available but i personally have not tested

2. Fans if are BLDC, then cannot be controlled by touch fan controller.
 
Sorry. Just to be clear, i am currently using wifi bulbs from wipro etc which are connected to wipro smart home over the internet and 2.4g wifi, whichkeep losing pairing. Will the touch switches keep pairing more reliably (say after being turned off for a week)
Fans yes I have bldc fans with remote, will use an ir hub
 
Yes touch switches/smart switches are hard wired to your lighting and devices.
Actually they are just like normal switches having a relay which switches the light on off with a wired connection
Only when you use your phone to control the light, it uses your Wifi 2.4Ghz if your phone is also on 2.4Ghz.
Alexa/other assistants are also directly connected to your switches, hence voice assistant also works properly.

In this space a good premium solution in SmartNode.

If you want to turn lights on off. Then go for on off switches. Else go for Phase-cut dimmable solutions also in certain areas.
Dimmable lighting is a pleasure.

Even past few days i was looking for good wireless automation solutions. Leccy Genisis is nice and cheap but it's smartlife based. And they don't offer DALI Lighting control which i needed.

My purpose of smart lighting is Dimmable and Tunable lighting known as HCL (Human Centric lighting) which automatically replacates the Sun's color of 2700k-3000k-3500-gradually to 6000k at noon and back to 2700k by evening.
It helps our brains circadian rhythm .

Contacted Shelly Europe via email and a few indian brands too. After lots of emails, dealer prices, Catalogs, features i found SmartNode to be nice.

Can share the contact of an experienced person in their team who explained me everything and made my Quote.
