One of my friend is considering between Touch and P1i and needs a piece of mind.

So here I am asking the help of you all mobile masters to give some Pros and Cons of Touch and P1i.

I am also making a Windows Mobile OS Vs Symbian guide will try to post as soon as it is completed :hap2:

P1i is more or less an enhanced version of P990i where as Touch is all together built and running on a different look and feel.

What I like about P1i is that it is Symbian based for which we have loads of free softwares and where as for Windows OS the applications available are paid (most of those).

Also as per Market Share:

Symbian OS has 72.4% Market Share of the 'smart mobile device' market,

Linux 13.3%,

Windows Mobile from Microsoft having 6.1%

RIM having 5.3%,

Palm OS 1.6%

OS X (Apple) 1.3%

If you want a no-nonsense phone that you don't want to tweak to make it nice and fast, then buy the P1i. But if you enjoy flashing new ROM's and tweaking and stuff (pretty easy and fun btw), you can make the Touch very fast and responsive. I wouldn't trade my touch for the P1i anyday.

Go for Touch and experience a new world with Windows Mobile 6. I have been a hardcore lover of Symbian devices and have used them for over 3 years. I was bit hesitant before moving to WM from Symbian but I think I made the right decision.

Touch can be overclocked and you can load it with some nice ROMs to make it fast and responsive.

+1 for Touch anyday !! I dont agree with your first post..There are a huge number of freewares available on WM platform! And Touch is 10X more customizable than P1i! Regading speed, you can always overclock the processor in Touch! Touch wins this competition hands-down IMO!

The only thing why someone would go for P1i is if they are looking for a good cam! Other than that, they should stay away from it !!

Also you made a statement of Symbian having a market share of 72%! I hope you know that P1i CANNOT run Symbian apps! It needs symbian apps that support UIQ ! So basically the amount of softwares/freewares available for P1i is like 10% of those available for WM!!

@Roxtin: Oh yeah, 1 more thing since you're talking about apps, as if anyone is going to buy them. Plenty of free/shareware available.

What is the latest price of touch ? , does it have wifi and memory card slot ? and most important how is the camera on touch ?

You can get one for 16-17k I think. It has Wi-Fi ofcourse, comes with a 1 GB card (can be upgraded to upto 8gb cards as of now).. the camera is a decent 2 mp cam.
