I am planning to purchase this connect the raspberry pi using the LAN port and stream music from the iPod over wifi.

Does this device allow such usage. I am planning to use this in the car.

Doesn't your car music player have bluetooth or AUX in ? you can connect a bluetooth device to the AUX in and stream music over bluetooth

My car has a AUX. No Bluetooth. I am planning to the router mentioned OP. I am planning to use a DACin the car

there are lot of devices which can connect to AUX and connect to ipod over bluetooth or even fm transmitter.
These help in wireless audio transmission
