The highly awaited sequel to the ever popular Trackmania Nations is out! It's called Trackmania Nations Forever and it's free! Only a 500MB download. It's an online racing game and is completely free. There are lots of servers and players playing online at all times.

It's available as a free download on Steam too.

Playing this for the past 2 days..! Game is good.. graphics are decent. I haven't played the previous versions, so I can't say whether this is an improvement or not..! :hap2:
 
ME too in for gaming online...!! Currently ranked 22 in India, but its geting difficult to advance further. :(
 
Played it the first day it was released. More or less the same as the earlier series. Loads of fun! Was going to post, but monty beat me to it :)
 
Played the prequel and thought it was really nice. What was really amazing was the small 250mb size and now the sequel too is only double. Judging from the media, it looks to be a lot better than the previous one.
 
Okay. Just installed TM Nations Forever.. well at the same graphics settings as set in nations eswc, its slightly worse(car reflection and floor reflection), but more user-friendly :P. car speed seems abit slower :bleh: . now I can add buddies to my list and can chat with them :D . will play SP for now. montylee, update this thread when you are finished with your TF2
 
ok i downloaded and played the game yesterday. Graphics are somewhat better than Trackmania Nations. Lighting is awesome and i think it has HDR.

Gameplay is exactly same, i used my PS2 controller to play trackmania for the first time and it worked well.

I'll also play SP initially for practice. I played a bit of multiplayer also, the server had around 50 players and there was no lag. I think the server has a new feature, when it showed me the servers it said that the server i have chosen is good and it contains similarly ranked players.

so, guys play this in SP first for practice and then we can play among overselves and see who is the best! It'll be amazing fun.

@broar94, whats ur trackmania id? Add me to ur friend's list in the game. My id is "montylee"

that's because the starforce protection would be likely be cracked if you downloaded a pirated version. not sure if a crack would also remove the starforce drivers that get automatically installed and are the real problem causers. afaik, the steam version of tmu didn't have starforce but the normal one did.
 
i installed the steam version of the game and there was no starforce protection. When i created an online account from within the game, it gave me a serial key and logged me in and i was able to play online.

yep afaik valve said their version would not have starforce. i'm just curious if the other version (direct download version) has it.
 
IIRC, the Steam and free versions (i.e. download and play) of the game never had StarForce
What's the use of copy-protection when there's no disc involved.
