First of all people should not be allowed on tracks like that... its illegal everwhere in the world and if you do it anywhere, you can be jailed for 5 years. There are many constables on the platform most of the times... it can easily be enforced if they want it. So more than the female, its the fault of Indian Railways.
I beg to differ....
People shouldn't be allowed?? Whats that mean...you shouldn't be allowed to kill yourself?? Rather people should have enough grey matter to figure out crossing tracks is dangerous.
Its not as if basic education is lacking, after all survival instincts are second nature to man (to every animal in fact)
I mean you don't just go putting your hand into every crevice you find right? Sooner rather than later you end up being on the business end of a snake bite or a scorpion sting...
Our railway lines are nearly the longest in the world (if you count all the tracks laid), and its nearly impossible to manage all the little stations with precious police or GRP resources. Unfortunately our police resources are stretched so thin, they barely manage to keep law and order, let alone prevent accidents...
Yes, something does need to be done. I've come across bullock carts that attempt to cross unguarded railway crossings, and yes don't tell me "people will break rules, when they're not enforced".
Common civic sense is uncommon here, like spitting on the pavement, or pissing against a wall. Bharat hei, chalta hei attitude is what screws up even the best intentions.
My dad served in the railways so maybe I'm a bit senti AFA the topic goes, and Chaos, this is defintely NOT a personal attack, just a view on the topic...no offense meant whatsoever mate...
