Transcend PC6400 (1 GB) is around 2.5K. But Kingston PC6400 is 5.5K.

If we consider Corsair that is even more costly!

Now what is the difference? Does it make any difference to a person who does not 'overclock'?

When latency and Data transfer rate are same, I could not imagine Corsair or kingston makes a big difference.

i dont really know the technical difference but transcend offers 3 years of warranty to be claimed from the dealer whereas kingston offers 5 years of warranty to be claimed at kingston service centres

I think ur prices are wayyyyyyyy off mark :P

Transcend 1Gb 800Mhz i got quoted 1600 2 days back (pune) Similarly, kingston also around the same price range only (2k max).

These are of course prices for the basic value rams for both brands.

If you go for the higher quality RAMS which can run on better timings (more overclocking possible etc), then those will cost you more.

Hope that clears things up ;)

For normal use, both are fine. n kingston no sane dealer will ask 5.5 k for the budget ones
