CPU/Mobo Transforming athlon 240 to athlon 250

One of my friends asked me just now if he buys an athlon 240 and overclocks it to 3ghz,will it be equal to athlon 250 or are there any diff b/w the two?

if you overclock it then it to same level then it will perform like 250 bt will not be transformed to 250.

when X2 240 is overclocked to 3ghz its equal to 250 @ stock. No difference at all. I think AMD overdrive is enough for 0.3 ghz overclock. No need of 3rd party heatsink too.
