transporting my bicycle from hyd to del

hey guys,

I am gonna buy a bicycle at hyderabad here but i am shifting permanently back to delhi so i am in a big problem as to how to transport my bicycle to delhi. I would be travelling by train so have thought of disassembling the bike and put in box and load in brake van. Is this a good idea ? If not can anyone plz suggest something cheap and reliable :bleh:.
Also is there any page which tells us about the luggage price ? (all i could find was parcel rates)
Also is there any vast difference between luggage and parcels ?

P.S : just going to delhi without any issues and buying the cycle is not the option. :(, Have to buy it here only as i am getting a good deal.

You don't have to dismantle the bike.
Just go along with the bike to the Parcel Booking Counter at Secunderabad station.
Make sure you take your ticket also with you
 
Please pack your Cycle well.
You can also have Gati to ship it to you @ ofcourse it will come at a premium price.
 
Best option will be book your bike through Railway parcel, they will book it with same train you are traveling, you need to show your ticket.
 
If you are going the rail route - make sure you designate it as "luggage" and not parcel - parcels have no obligation to be on the same train as the traveller.
