Hi, i'm traveling to US from Mumbai
Hows Jet Airways service
or which are the good airlines to travel on
United Airlines has direct flight but i've heard that alcohol has to be paid for
which is a must.

Please provide you experiences.

He is asking if it is mandatory to pay extras for alcohol, not that he will drink.

I too felt OP mentioned that he wants alcohol and will he need to pay for them separately. But if it is not the case then @OP, alcohol is usually free (only the free ones they offer that is) but if you buy something from their menu or something similar then it might cost you.

I had taken United in 2010, alcohol was free. They gave those miniatures. The direct flight is a b****. Hardly leg space in economy class. But you get there in one shot.

Well just checked from colleague who travelled by United. He said that in economy you have to pay separatly for drinks.
Jet Airways has a flight via Brussels takes 19hrs so will get a break in between. I donot want to pay separately for Alchohol as this will be from my pocket.

I doubt you would find any airlines which offers free alcohol on Economy seats any more.

What rubbish. I have never been asked to pay for alchohol even in air India. Last fee flights in Malaysian, Singapore airlines, Thai and Sri lankan over the last year or do and no one charged anything extra. I have not flown to US for quite some time now so can't comment on the airlines which have direct connections there, but jet has extremely good service on their international flights and good food and drinks as well as good entertainment options as well. Used jet for a 6 hour flight to HK and was happy with the service

I would recommend Emirates. Alcohol is served FOC, except for Champagne. Their fares too are pretty much on par with the other airlines, and the small premium you pay would be worth it.

Decide on the airline based on where you are going. If its east coast, I'd any day recommend BA or Jet airways or Emirates. In the latter, the flight to dubai will unfortunately be filled with all sorts of people you don't wish to sit beside. If its the west coast, I heartily recommend Cathay Pacific. Just landed up yesterday and both the food and booze were excellent. Plus leg space seemed more than normal.
