What a gem of an innovative game!! Is anyone else here playing/enjoying this as much as I am? Who could have thought a side-scroller could be so visually stunning, so creative and different that it breaks apart from any other game similar in genre.

If you haven't heard of Trine or seen videos/photos yet, good - KEEP IT THAT WAY. Get the game and start playing - I won't get into details here and suggest you don't spoil it for yourself.

Enjoy ;)

Re: Trine

Yeah, awesome game.
Played through the demo, still haven't gotten the full game yet. Have a backlog of games to finish, will get it on PSN after that.

Re: Trine

One more here. It's extremely engaging. The visuals sported by the game is amazing for such a small game. I haven't completed the demo yet. But will definitely get the full version.

Re: Trine

so its a side scrolling game with stunning graphics/gameplay and story.you guys can also try a free side scrolling 3d game Dragonica by THQ freetoplay ...it may not be as good as trine but it has its own positives. the game is small too 800 mb

this is the official site of the game :- Dragonica

right now i am playing hunter and warrior and the game has lots of content to offer

here are some of dragonica pics taken by me

Trine - Gamepad problem.

The game doesn't allow 2nd gamepad till I have selected the 1st gamepad.

I can either us Keyboard+Mouse or gamepad 1 directly but can't select it directly.

The second gamepad directly controls the character when gamepad 1 is selected but the configuration is messed up as it is the default config for 360 controller.

The default settings are fine for my 360 Controller (gamepad 1) but confusing for the chinese one (gamepad 2) and I want to play with the second one 'cause it is a ps2 lookalike and suits me much better for button smashing games.

Can someone please tell me the configuration? Also how do I select the second gamepad directly?

Re: Trine - Gamepad problem.

Sorry to have this old thread bumped! :ashamed:

Was this problem resolved finally? Or was it a problem with the chinese gamepad? Did anyone else face a similar issue?

Looking ahead to play Trine with my room partner before the sequel is out! :)

Re: Trine - Gamepad problem.

You could try the 360 controller emulator. I had used it ages ago to configure an el cheapo PS2 look-alike controller be mapped like the 360 one. Alternatively, try using a 3rd party tool like Xpadder to configure the second controller. It's an excellent tool for mapping your keyboard controls onto any generic controller.

Re: Trine - Gamepad problem.

It took the default controller which was my 360 controller as the 1st controller, I gave up on button mapping for the second controller . I played as the soldier with the controller and my friend on Keyboard + mouse as the wizard switching to thief when and where required.

But is it required for this title? Asking this because both of us have 2 X360 controllers (a wired and a wireless one). Is this issue caused solely because of the cheap Chinese fakes?

Re: Trine - Gamepad problem.

Wait you have 2 X360 controllers? I thought one of you had a chineese controller. That's what prabs had posted in his first post. Any-hoo, if both are 360 controllers, then it should work perfectly, considering it has native support for the controller.

Re: Trine - Gamepad problem.

Precisely what I thought. I'll be using the wireless controller from my console. Mohit would be shipping the receiver hopefully today. :)

PS: Thanks for the headsup regarding the receiver Allwyn. Getting it for cheap! :p

Re: Trine - Gamepad problem.

Jep! His deal was pretty good and seeing how he has sparingly used the thing, it was worth the price. :)

Re: Trine - Gamepad problem.

I would suggest you try playing this with KB+mouse once. The controls are actually much more suited for kb+mouse. Especially the wizard's powers are much more precise with kb+mouse.

Re: Trine

Completed 10 chapters and it has been a brilliant experience by far.

The visuals are just too good. Some of the game's physics using the cog wheels, planks, see-saws etc actually seem to obey the laws of physics in real time! Hard to believe a side-scrolling platformer have come up with so much of attention to detail! This was something very impressive! Even the gameplay is vastly different for a platformer - multiple ways to solve the puzzle.

The only downsides we found by far were the camera angles and the types of enemy AI. Sometimes the camera doesn't pan properly when one character is at one corner of the screen and the other is at the opposite corner. With regard to enemy types, other than skeletons that wield arrows and swords, bats and few bosses, there isn't anything else.

I love playing as the Wizard more often than the Knight. Drawing different shapes in the air to spawn platforms and weights. Been playing the title with my room partner on medium difficulty. Hopeful of completing the game tonight! Game of Thrones have kept us busy. :p

Glad to hear that the sequel although delayed, is in works! <3 Frozenbyte!

--- Updated Post - Automerged ---

Completed the game a while back. The last level was a b1tch! No save points bar one near the end of the level. And I was hoping for some boss fight but the ending was pretty quick!

Awesome game nonetheless. 9/10 from me! :)

Yep without problems. :D Just that you need to assign it at the start of the game and you will need to do that each time you begin the game.

Damn I had a hard time with my roomie though. At times, I had to snatch the controller from him and help him with the platforming. And finally played the last chapter alone. I'm sure that may not be the case with your bro though. :p
