wonder who the bugger is. maybe he fell on the other side of the line towards the insanity part while signing the papers for the deal. and then it was too late when he came back...............

Dude, would you say the same thing about someone buying an ultra high end rig here for insane price ! If someone wants something which is top notch, and price is not an issue, he is justified in getting it. The parts on a 25 K bike like Trek 4300 are really good and will last you at least a decade if you take regular care of it (no changing required apart from tires / tubes). A 100 K bike == 2000$ bike, which is what you'll pay for a medium / top range cycle in America. If you get a bike imported, well then you pay duty and customs as well, which further inflates the price.

A 100 K bike is anytime better than a 2 lakh Nano in my opinion anyway. It keeps you active and involved and doesn't aggravate the Global Warming / Global Energy Crisis.

About the opinion about an ungeared bike being more suitable for a better workout, well I beg to differ. Some people might be able to take the strain on their knees as they pedal a steep uphill on a single geared bike, but many will just have to get down or end up risking acute knee problems. For a ride involving gradients, a geared cycle is a must. Even on a flat terrain it helps to ride at different cadence to give your legs a workout at different rates.

A treadmill can never substitute for an awesome bicycle. Unless if you want to stay bundled up in your own house. So go out and explore - on foot or on your steed / cycle !

BTW - A nice one pulled at Chaos. That Ferrari had me stumped for a while as well !

Happy Riding,

Now by this may end I will have crossed about 1000km. That makes it 500km / month.

^Holy crap! Are you insanely fat to have ridden so much? :O

Hats off to you!

Nope, no insanity, I love driving, used to do that on bikes, cars, now on the cycle. Hence honestly I dont think 25k is that big price.

Last friday I was riding back home and was enjoying "Life is a highway - tom cochrane" when suddenly a guy on bike is waving his hands to me. I thought I dropped something and looked back. Then that guy was telling me something, I thought may be I gave him a bad cut and now he is giving me ear full. So I took out my ear plug and this is waht the guy said:

"Aap 40 pe gaadi ko bhaga rahe ho" and a "thumps up" to me. Those words kept ringing in my head for the rest of ride.
