Tripod with cabin luggage?

Hi Guys,
Has anyone carried tripod on
flights to India and domestic
flights within India? Will be
travelling on Air india and jet
airways. I'm bit paranoid about
putting my CF tripod in check-in
baggage.
Has anyone carried tripod in cabin? Pls pour in your
experiences.

Unless it's really big, it's no issue carrying with your hand baggage. If your tripod is big then you'll need to check in with your other luggage. I usually put my tripod with check-in luggage. If I have a big suitcase/bag and it can fit in my tripod I usually put the tripod in it, along with my clothes, wrapped in.
