 I have Kaspersky latest edition . Didnt catch anything(XP SP2). But Bitdefender caught some trojans. Tried to remove it. Not cleaned properly. So decided to install once again.
I have two HD in the system. Since trojan affected, I formatted the first one and installed the OS again.
(After diconnecting the second harddisk from the MB). I havnt connected the second harddisk. But there is a problem
with current installation (XP SP2). When I click to open a window, the window resize and maximize continuously.
It continues to do so until I press ctrl. No idea what is this. Is this a virus? And How to connect the second harddisk again? The moment I connected, will the trojan come to the first harddisk again? Second harddisk have valuable data.
pls help

Anand

This is weird. I haven't ever encountered this kind of a virus..

Try booting in Safe Mode and run this >

Code:
http://download.nai.com/products/mcafee-avert/stinger10000457.exe

Also try a rootkit scan > There are a lot of Anti-rootkits available. I'd suggest using Avast!

And please, if possible, can you explain the situation in a bit more detail.. Which window are you talking about ? The browser window or the EXPLORER window ? And how the does the resizing stop when you press Ctrl ?

All the best ! :cool2:

Hello Metalheart, thanks for the reply.
Now I removed Kaspersky and installed Avast and scanned. Removed some trojans. Connected both HDs. Currently running spyBot as well as Avast.
The window resizing persists. Example if I click firefox, when FF window comes up , it starts resizing and maximizing. Means, as you know there is a full screen option (F11). The window starts appearing as full screen and normal. When I press Ctrl it stops (mostly as Full screen mode). Strange...
This behaviour is not always. Whenever the system 'Feel' to annoy me :-)

Anand

Could this be anything to do with your keyboard. Could u try unplugging your keyboard when the resizing takes place.

Well, it would be better if you tried using a different keyboard rather than plugging it out from a running system.

And I also note that you got two similar threads running. I am going to lock this thread as it is the older thread.
