Trouble-Comodo Firewall

Hii,i was using Comodo firewall but as it ask for every damn thin which was vry irritatin i decided to uninstall it,did tht properly step by step,n after de it was done wid uninstalling process asked for a restart...but wen system restarted i got a msg comodo did not uninstalled proper,i tryed finding files related to comodo but there was not a single,n in windows security centre its showing comodo firewall is on :@ :( now wht i shud do?how can i remove it completely need help guyz do temme asap!!

N which free firewall is gud?which will keep system safe at da same time dun ask for everythin...like permission...even wen i save it to remember da setting like in comodo it has de worst memory...ask de same thing 100 times!!

comodos supp to b pretty decent, n AFAIK, it shud only ask each n every time dependin on ur settings, else u just put it in learning mode n it ll ask only once n remember that nxt time. same with zonealarm too. i like that btw :)
 
To reduce those messages you can switch off Defense+. If its switched on, it will ask lot of things including file writes, dll access and such.

I have been using it for few weeks now and have pretty much got used to it. I have configured all the things I need to work. I usually ignore most of the messages unless its trying to block something im working on.

One more thing I didnt like is, I had blocked certain range of IPs. But after an update comodo just didnt have those in the config anymore. Had to redo it. If it happens once more, I might switch to some other firewall.
 
Defense+ is pure crap. I was so turned off by the whole thing that I uninstalled Comodo (I could have turned it off, but I was pissed off by the whole thing).
 
i have defense+ disabled as well.

plus there are more problems with v3 like the one posted above of an incomplte uninstall. happened to me too. cudn't even downgrade then to v2.

had to restore the os from a backup image. now its fine

moreso, the startup switch -s seems to disable the custom network policy.

so i start comodo without the switch at boot.

if it givesme more problems i'll downgrade to v2
 
well guys comodo is the best firewall out there. and defence+ is a work of art.

but it is a bit overwhelming for a newbie thus they may try to disable its advanced features or use another firewall.

well it is like learning to ride a bicycle. first u are very afraid to ride it and fall very often. but as soon as u are good at riding it , u never look back.

guys i started usind comodo two months back and i absolutly love it!!

so don't be a cry baby and uninstall it , just try to work with it and it will learn bout u.

one thing that i can recommend u is to fo to comodo forums. look around , u may find ur problem already answered , else register in the forums and ask the problem urself. Help for v3

one more thing is tho backup ur config ofter especially before an update.

ps defence+ is an advanced feature by which u can also stop execution of some wily applications like ctfmon.exe , adobe updater etc.
 
Well i restored my pc...n things are fine now...but again i am gonna uninstall Comodo...but after uninstalling comodo ill need a different firewall...plz temme which one i shud install?i used ZA which was pretty gud...but had prblms with it wen last time i used...n now wen i googled bout de review it aint tht gud with de lasted version...people complaining a lot...da newer which support Vista have loads of bug!!

Finally uninstalled Comodo n installed Filseclab Personal Firewall...its working pretty fine...vry satisfied with the way it works!! will write more bout this product in a weeks time!:)
