Hello everyone,
Just as i was readying myself to start working on a new home(read Cabbies) for my H/W along with the newer members to the family, Thermaltake has added another to its family of CPU coolers!!
This was anticipated by many after reports of people going for rival products due to fear of excess weight, Gigantic size and the not so simple installation!!
But that was not something too major for the Extreme Artists of the world as they prefer such mounting for better pressure= better mounting and also the ability to mount it on naked cores!!hyeah:
And they came up with their own custom h/w or cannibalised stuff from other cpu coolers to overcome these issues!!
Just as Thermalright has the XP90, XP120, XP90C and the SI120; the last 2 being the hot favourites now; Thermaltake has gone ahead and added one to their lineup!!
WELCOME THE THERMALTAKE MINI TYPHOON!!
Retaining the same design of copper base (with what seems to be a better lapping job on the base) with 6x6mm copper heat pipes, they have obviously reduced overall dimensions and used copper for fins instead of the aluminium for BIG brother=813g (that helped it to restrain its weight)!! Little brother weighs in at 623g!!
And with the waved, 0.2mm thick copper fins but reduced size, it might match dear old Big bro or even exceed it by a bit, in stock form!!:cool2:
But that only time will tell!!
And a 92x92x38 mm radical RX type, reversed fan (that requires a lower input 2.88W vs 3.6W of big bro and also has a lower starting voltage of 6V vs 7V!!)
This according to them along with the wavy fins not only helps reduce noise to a stated 18db but also allows it to breathe freer; unlike the Big brother who need wide enough cases with very good case ventilation for proper functioning!!
(In some cases, Big Bro had very little space from side panel and many had to keep case open or make some sort of ventilation by dremelling an intake or drilling holes similar to the Intel TAC chassis!!)
Supports upto TDP 130W!!
And to save the Best for the Last-
Not only LGA775 and K8 compatible but AM2 READY:clap: !!
The Cherry on Top- ToolLess mounting for K8 and AM2!!:hap2:
MINI TYPHOON>http://www.thermaltake.com/product/Cooler/Retail/CL-P0268/cl-p0268.asp#specification
And just for cross reference, BIG TYPHOON>http://www.thermaltake.com/product/cooler/retail/cl-p0114/cl-p0114.asp
So now If you hear of Unseasonal TYPHOONS in MUMBAI, its just the DUO of TT BT and TT MT- Big Bro and Lil Bro unleashing their full glory!!
Thats if my parents permit me to continue living with them!!
p.s. A very dear friend/mentor/guide Home Delivered the TT BT and the TT MT is next!! Guruji- Aapka haath hamesha mere sar par rahe, mere gaal par nahi pade- he he he!!:cool2:
