Hi All,

So getting a chrome 500. Sadly these still run on tube tires. So my brother told me to see alternatives.

Is there anyway to make this tubeless WITHOUT moving to alloy wheels. We want the spoke wheels to be retained. I have read about the inner tube things in motocross bikes in US. Can I do that for this? Is there anyway I get this in India? OR any sealant for the spoke wheels?

Any suggestions are welcome.

Thanks.

Tubeless tired are always recommended only for alloy wheels..

Have a look at continental gt, it has pireli Tubeless tires with tube inside due to spoke wheels :/

Consult an tire wala shop and he may advise you better. Else try an experienced bullet mechanic..

Inbtw, I thump with classic chrome black :)

All the best

Ive tried a friends Classic 350 and find the stock tube tyres seem pretty decent . Any reason for moving to tubeless ? Puncture issues etc ? Tubeless will definitely need alloy wheels .

We got thunderbird last month and they had also filled some liquid matter in pink color in tubes.
They confirmed that even after puncture they were able to drive for 10-20 kms easily.

why do you want to go for tubeless tyres? Stock tires with the enfields are reasonable enough for normal use.

Fear of punctures.... stigma associated with it... me and my elder brothers been on thumpers from 97.... from then on...punctures been a curse... :( :(..

I agree nowadays the bullets are made very light so pushing is okayish... but I am myself is 28 and my eldest 38, the sight of us pushing is not so great. :D
My first bike was a 98 bullet machismo. The damn thing was a big iron block. Still remember pushing it for 40 minutes during rush hour at 12.00 clock noon. :(.
Memories.. :). Already have a Desert Storm 500 which also is tube. Same issue... though very rare I admit.twice in a year since we own. but the fear is there always. So before getting the chrome, want to see this. Both my brothers are not happy with GT style so that is out.

@hareshr29

Can you please tell more about that liquid? is it available for all thumpers?

I think it should work for all the enfield bikes...the guys in showroom would be more knowledgeable on this
It costs 1200 rs they fill it in to the tubes through air valve they call it puncture lock liquid...may be a sealant

?

That's surprising, I've had no punctures in three years, and I have dragged the bike through places like Kutch, Rajasthan and Leh. I changed tires before the Leh trip, but my tubes are still original.

Tubeless tyres won't necessarily guarantee less/no punctures - I recall reading a trip story (probably Helmet Stories' Pangi Ride) where a Ducati multistrada with special offroad tubless tyres had major issues with punctures, while the tubed CI enfields lumbered on without an issue :D

Its more of no pushing rather than no punctures for me.

Perhaps Kerala roads are worse than Leh.. :) :).. Actually it may not be far off. My brother did leh 4 or 5 times till now from Trivandrum, Chennai, Coimbatore, Blore as starting points... I never heard an instance he told me for pushing.
Anyways he carries spares and they travel in groups as part of Madras Bulls and Kowai Thumpers. Only one solo.

I had no tube failures on my 2004, TB 350 CC, 4000 kms long trip to Leh Ladakh in 2008 and since then have not had a single problem with tube/tyre but I think I am just lucky and don't recommend against tubeless as I don't know in depth about them. Most of the advertised stuff out these is expensive crap so do your researches before spending on tubeless. If i were you I would use the tube ones as long as possible then buy tubeless after some years.

People its not a tube vs tubeless thread. :)

Looking for an option for tubeless in bullet with spoke wheels.

Not without changing your rims. Else you will have to fit a tube anyway, which may or may not invalidate the whole reason you got the tubeless in the first place. Look for "run flats" rather than "tubeless" - they have that gel that seals the hole for some time until you get to a puncture-wallah
