Hey I was thinking of getting a DVD Player..:ohyeah: Philips DVP3166/94
but its then my friend suggested me to try a PC to TC thing rather than a DVD Player a more cost effective thing...:P

He suggested that i would be able to play all formats including .mkv using a PC to TV connection while the same cant happen with a DVD Player,so its a value for money rather than going for a DVD player...:cool2:

Damn now iam pretty confused about what to do,DVD Player or a PC to TV connection...

If PC to TV connection would be better then what needs to be done.I got a simple FX5200 card which has got a TV-Out and it needs to be connected to a Sony Bravia KLV-32S310A:ohyeah: :ohyeah:

cheap , yes . but question is , whether it is convenient , esp if your other family members are going to use it.

but what he said is true . A pc can play anything :D

PS : why tv out ? the bravia must have VGA and HDMI inputs both of which will offer better quality :)

ya it has HDMI N PC(rgb) input but I have no clue wat all would be needed for connecting my PC to TV...

Someone please tell me what all would be required for a VGA/HDMI setup....:)

A card / mobo with DVI/HDMI out. Looks like you have an AGP system. pick up an older card with DVI out , get a DVI to HDMI cable and you'll be set.

Alternately you can upgrade to a mobo with DVI/HDMI onboard :)
