Tv Tuner On Cas

Hello Folks,
Please help me reach a conclusion on this
I have recently purchased a TV tuner capture card. I have standard CAS System with a Set top box at my Place. My Computer and TV rooms are different . Now I had originally split Cable connection and put an extension in my computer room as a future arrangement, the CAS system never existed at that time.

Now when I have CAS system hOw can i Effectively use my TV tuner to capture and View TV, and what all will i need?

Also is the Software that I use , is that going to make any difference?

If yes then which is the best Medica Center Software that i should be using.
 
Restore the original cable connection?

the other option is buy a CAS box for your puter, I believe the 2nd connection in same home is at a discount.

Just curious, what made you buy a TV card when you do not have a cable connection ?
 
^TV tuner CAPTURE card,,,i guess dats d point,,

i don think u'l be able to do it easily wid out a set top box cause it does all d decompressing and decrypiting(don know whether d exact words),, but dats d case if u want to see diff channels in both places @ same time,,

But from wat i guess, if u jus wana record, u can jus try something dat carries d same signal to your TV AnD tv t card ...
