Ubiquiti Access Points And Managing Them

Always...

I am planning to install Ubiquiti access points in my 3 storied home ,

I have a Mikrotik RB5009 router that is my main router and has dual wan failover configured on it primarly would be connecting APs to a POE switch and internet would be managed by mikrotik.

My main question is, to manage the ubiquiti access points, do I need to buy the UDM Pro Router or their cloud gateway???

Can they be easily managed without these two?
If yes then please elaborate

Previously had tp link DECO as my setup , removing them now.

From what my limited research tells me

2 ways to run ubiquity is
- UDM/ Unify gateway hardware
- Running Unify controller os on other hardware like a mini PC

For me personally I would go for UDM unless I have the other hardware laying around because more or less it will cost me almost the same.

Edit (added later)

The above is for basic control of your APs. If you just want to use the AP as basic AP just connect it to any router over Ethernet.

@transform878 deco is complete trash I have 8 of them from top end xe75 to m4 , everything is locked you cant change a single thing.

@Nyan bought a udm

Actually, from a consumer or even prosumer perspective, Decos are actually quite good and no fiddle. Its when you start going into the niche category, that's when you might have some shortcomings. But for the most part, it works fine.

However, it would be prudent for me to say that I use them purely in AP mode - all of them.

Umm .. they advertise an exclusive 2 years warranty only if you purchase from their official India store -
So yes, some more information would definitely help.
I bought a ubiquity US 24 500W although not from the official store, but from a distributor. Contacted them for support, and they said that they could provide warranty support only if I could send the product to their HQ in US. So technically they do provide a warranty, but claiming it is a whole different story.

@anmolbhard004 @Nyan srry for the late reply.

More context abtt what had happened -

For some reason, the switch's power supply decided to go up in flames. checked forums and things and found that there were some issues with that particular series and it had been happening to multiple people. Decided to contact the distributor (seller). They said to contact Ubiquiti as they provide the 2 years warranty and not them. Ubiquiti was quite happy to let me claim the warranty but the only caveat was sending in the switch to their US HQ for inspection, which DHL and others quoted me somewhere between 10 to 15k.
Decided not to send in aftr India Foreign post declined to send it citing they dont handle sending expensive shit of normal users outside of India. Its still in room all opened up... planning to get some 48V and 24V power supplies to resurrect it.

My previous workplace has Ubiquiti network and AFAIK they had an annual contract to cover any issues.
IDK about company AMC... Also it is quite easy for a company to claim a warranty by sending stuff outside the country. But for a consumer sending it to US by paying 10k to 15k is not worth it... Cheapest will be 3.5 to 4k by India Post, but they decline to handle expensive stuff unless u got a B2B accn with them.

The 2 year warranty applies only if purchased from their webstore (and not the distributors) but if the responsibility lies on the customer to pay and ship the product for RMA then that is shitty. I suppose they have kept only minimal sales staff here.

Can you share your Config for failover, i did it on my router but it abruptly stopped working properly.....amazon services won't work....had to remove it totally and run directly from router.
I have one local isp and other is jio.

Yes that's what my thought process was before mailing Ubiquiti. But to my surprise, they were happy to cover my device under warranty.
