Engine looks very impressive indeed. As for the name, Snowdrop, one can't help but think of it as a snipe at Dice's Frostbite engine... ;)

Wow! This is truly next gen. I hope we see more Ubisoft titles adopting this engine like EA did for Frosbite.

Cryengine and Frostbite really need to up their game now.

I feel frostbite is good for large environments which might not be so well done in other engines.
Cryengine i feel needs to up its game a bit more. Something is lacking, just the eye-candy is not enough. Must bring in destruction and more to table.
Have to see how this fair with a lineup of cards to give the final verdict.

The art looks stunning indeed. However a single video says nothing about an engine. What decides if an engine is good or bad is ease of use and extensibility along with technical capability and scalability. As far as I'm concerned unreal engine is still the one to beat overall.

Yep. Most games look incredible nowadays and it's hard to be really impressed by just their graphics any more (that Far Cry moment won't happen again until we have achieved true photorealism).

It's all in the hands of the creative team nowadays whether they can impress with distinctive art styles like BioShock or Dishonored or Batman and ease of use for the technical team to be able to bring that vision to fruition.
And like Chaos said, UE is the one to beat in that regard.
