Ubuntu & CMOS error

I have recently installed Win XP and Win 7 in my PC. After the installation, I installed Ubuntu 10.10 in XP. Now Ubuntu is showing in my boot order along with XP and Win7.

When I tried to log on to Ubuntu, it says that it is not properly installed and asks me to reboot with the Ubuntu CD for selection of language. But when I reboot, the error remains there. My PC does'nt go to the language selection option of Ubutu.

(I am installing Ubutu in XP as I was not able to understand the way it is installed stand-alone)

Second error I am getting is CMOS error at the boot time, which asks me to select the boot file (saved in CMOS F-11).

Pls tell how to correct the above.

That's right follow what Gaurish said.

I guess that would also fix the CMOS error you are getting. If not, then it looks like the battery has drowned. In that case you need to purchase a new battery, but I strongly believe that CMOS error you are getting will be fixed.

Now I have completely removed Ubuntu, but the error remains. I have even changed the CMOS battery, but the error is still there. Pls help further......

Can you please post a screenshot of the actual error??

Well, I'm not sure, are your HDD detected in BIOS??

I mean why would it ask you to select Boot file if it already get from HDD..?? Check that, and also check if that HDD is in the first boot order. And also take a look at Boot Order.
