I'm facing a problem in Ubuntu and want answer to a query?

I've latest Firefox and Adobe Flash Player 10 installed yet flash vids from sites like Funnyordie won't play, what's the reason and how to rectify it?

Other thing is that in Windows v regularly delete temporary files and defrag disk to keep it all in ship shape, what about Linux?:S

That site works fine here...do you get any error? Start firefox from a terminal window & try to browse that site...see if you get any error.

You don't need to defrag Linux filesystems.

do all flash sites not work or just a few? how did you install flash player (manually or from standard package repository) and what version OS do you have?

YouTube works fine but the mentioned site doesn't. Even tried the Chrome for Linux, aka Chromium but it too doesn't play at all, it gives the Flash Player missing error. I do ahAdobe Flash Player 10 installed via GDebi packet manager

Couple of points :

* There is a "official" chrome build available, which has flash (use the --enable-plugins option when starting it. More info at this link. The video plays with the latest version of google chrome.

* I tried to access the site you mentioned, and it works for me. I am on FF 3.5.4pre (codename shiretoko). Maybe you could give it a try !
