Oh this is not going good.
Tried Manjaro via liveUSB - but the boot screen got stuck (same as this). I can login via CLI though. So didn't proceed with the installation.
Hoped at least Elementary will work. But to surprise, neither elementary booting this time. Some issue with AMD Virtualization (Issue similar as this )
I had booted live Elementary last week once, but after that I had updated the BIOS firmware from Windows as new update was available/recommended, and thats seems to broke my thing. (Ubuntu 18.04 - same issue)
Trying here and there, every command/param I could find, somehow the some part of the issue is resolved, but still left with a error message as “AMD-Vi: Unable to write to IOMMU perf counter.”
Live version gets stuck with black screen after showing the above msg.
This is frustrating.
try searching for kernel boot parameters to pass during boot, experiment with them to see if it gets you to boot. for example "noapic", "nolapic", "iommu=off" and "nomodeset" ? try passing all together first then experiment with one at a time.
