I installed Ubuntu 9.04 today.......now the problem is i cannot surf......the websites neither can i download there.......when i m enabling the network it is showing that your Auto eth0 is connected but when i m trying too surf in default web browser i.e Mozilla Firefox it is just showing the welcome homepage......of Ubuntu and when i m giving the address like Google no response........after a few seconds it is giving a error message again i connected my mobile gprs connection with it in my Mobile i can see that its connected but when i m trying to surf the websites it is not giving anything except the error result.......can anybody solve this problem i m very much eager to use Ubuntu......but without internet connection in that OS i ll pretty bored using......so plz anyone can help me out......:huh:

can you give more details about how you normally connect to internet?
like, dsl modem? modem setup to do PPPoE dialling or you dial from OS normally?
type the output of "ifconfig -a" here? what is your internet provider?
Maybe you just need to ensure you set DNS servers (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) and Gateway (maybe 192.168.1.1) and it will work...

well my broadband connection is of BSNL.......and My gprs connection is of Aircel.......i saw that my mobile got connected when i just changed a few setting in Mobile Broadband option....but the problem is no pages are opening in Web Browser.....i can see that the internet is connected but still couldnt surf the net properly..ok i ll try by giving DNS....lets see whether it works or not.......
