there's no way a MBA can stand the rough usage a thinkpad can...plus the x220 RAM and HDD upgrades are just a screw away :D

Are you sure the X series TPs are as durable as the T series?

My job requires a lot of travel to weirdest of places, and everyone uses either T400/T410 or MBP(Yes,the employer is very good)never seen a x series thinkpad.

yep...many ppl where i work use the X series...very durable..they have the rollcage and mag alloy covers too :)

the x220 offers 23 hours of battery life

Wouldn't that require an addl battery pack?

A regular ultraportable battery would be somewhere between 40-55 Whr and even an atom processor with a 12.5" screen would suck that out in 8 hrs max

Just the LCD and an idling i5 would suck over 500mA which at 12V would be 6Whr draw (i.e. 6-7 Hrs on a 40 Watt hour battery)
