UMG181 problem-- help needed

hi,
just today i got the umg181 from ebay,
at first the software got installed nicely..but after few mins its saying "device disconnected".
after that i uninstalled mobile partner and inserted the modem to install it again but this tym the autoplay option displays for 2-3 secs and automatically it goes off.
from "my computer" also its not displaying!!:(
can't install the software also.
what to do now? is the modem faulty
plz advice
 
Try inserting the device into the different back USB ports to check whether it is working, if not download the latest drivers for it. Refer the instructions of 'Supra' from the BSNL thread. :)
 
m using on my laptop..after restarting my system few times it gets detected..i installed the mobile partner and connected to internet..but only for few mins then the device is disconnected... after few mins gap it gets recognised on inserting then disconnects again after few mins.. and the modem is getting too hot. is it normal? or something wrong with the modem??
