Forum Feedback Unable to connect to TE using Tapatalk

Again, please do not twist words to justify your argument. Request you to re-read what he said in his post below. How is accusing that we have blocked Tapatalk to earn money related to suggesting improvement on TE? Post count is certainly not a criteria for suggesting improvement to the user experience.
Still if you feel that it has come out as arrogant and rude then I apologize to you all.

Honestly we were using the TE website before TT or TE app also. It is not a showstopper kind of thing. Only concern is now since we have tasted the blood its more comfortable to use TT app while surfing TE on phones and tablets. And what confuses me is that when there is no financial motive behind this move than atleast for first few months let the forum be accessible on both the Apps. Let the users decide right... if they are more comfortable with the TE app they will certainly prefer TE app over TT. For the obvious reasons that free TT has ads where as the free TE app does not have any ads for registered members.... Issue solved.

And again I dont say that TE owners need to follow everything members demand but if you believe otherwise than atleast make a honest attempt to educate members on the reasons of making some major change.
You know what it all comes to.... That some one is "forcing" me to use a particular app to browse their site rather than a generic app which was doing the job well for a long time now. This is where most of the people might not be happy... We have always supported changes and encouraged you staff to do so to improve the forum... And its not change we are resisting... Its the way you are implementing (read forcing ) this small change.

Instead of the forum if this was some other kind of site say Ebay or if there was no TT then the same move by you to introduce a TE app would have been welcomed hugely... But not when people have equally compelling options to choose from....

I dont see the point of discussing this matter any further on this thread.... as its not the end of the world.... I would be happy if the TE staff allow access of the forum on TT else I will just restrict my access to PC broswers. No additional apps. Sorry....
No hard feelings staff...

Not sure what your rant is about. A member with a 104 post count giving a lecture on how to run a forum seems a bit out of place. If the forum is so pathetic then I suggest you either help improve it or move on.

If you have trouble with the TE app you can report it. If a registered members is seeing ads in the app then they need to clear their cache and relogin.

You sir, made my day..! Just something to talk about with my pals about that particular "Indian Technology forum" where apparently "Grey" matters.

1. I gave a suggestion
2. I already have. ;) Came over to "like" the "nice" posts.
3. You can most certainly challenge my ability to run a forum, I do not have the time to do so. But do care to explain the reason for "full page" ads which you have thankfully done away with.

Sent from the "Grey" that "Actually" works..

You can "also" use your browser in iOS. Couple of people have mentioned the browser version is quite nice.

Option 1: put up a vote to select TE app or TAPATALK or both

Option 2: Enable both

Option 3: Disable both

Option 4: Stfu, use the TE app, and move on.. its not the end of the world...

Which is better?

Does popular content work on Tapatalk/TE app? Asking because I haven't used either.
Get the staff to enable the TT plugin and use the TT app to test it urself ; Just saying ;)
what about the blackberry boys? no app options there except tapatalk
I pity BB boys. In the heat for apps on android and iOS we forget them like lost souls. Hang in tight there mate, I hope the BB browser can handle the site layout well.

Tapatalk does not have popular content. So I guess you don't want to use Tapatalk then ;)

He asked about an "app" you know. :clown:
Browsers are not apps? Damn I should have done more articles and youtube vids to not have missed something so basic :dead:

I've been reading your rants and instead of just clearly saying "there are full page ads in TE app" in your first post, you have been throwing this BS about ad dollars. Also AFAIK the ads in TE app are by tapatalk not TE. Anyway, your last comment clarified your true purpose - "Just something to talk about with my pals about that particular "Indian Technology forum" where apparently "Grey" matters." If you're looking to be the troll you so proudly advertise in your avatar, I suggest finding people of your intelligence level to do it with. Personally I have never met people with actual grey matter wasting their time this way :)

So the second"shark" pops up. Pray link of the articles and the YouTube videos you have done. Or did you mean "read" and "viewed".

Anyways, in the current context I and users likewise were discussing "dedicated" "community reader" apps, like Tapatalk, TE app. You might want to review the discussion again.

Are you sure about the "ad" thingy, absolutely?

So a supermod talking about my "avatar".. I guess I should change to Batman, what say..

Yeah, some people "think" that I am dumb. I mean I don't mind, till the time I am having fun. It is so easy with the people who "think" they are "smart".

Looks like you haven't met too many really smart people, have you?

Sure. Give the options to users and let them choose. I have invested money in an app and want to continue using it for all forums that I browse. The app is there for convenience. Imagine what would happen if each forum starts to force users to use their own app? I will be left with more than 10 different apps for forums alone on my phone which is not a great thing.Forcing to move to another "Free" app is not making any sense. What is the need to block it from TT and have a separate TE app? If proper justification is given, everyone will calm down. So far I have not seen any clear information on why it is like this currently.

Renegade said something about content leeching happening with tapatalk. Apparently the TE app offers more control. Also AFAIK the ads benefit Tapatalk not TE, so instead of letting someone else profit off TE, with the TE app these ads are disabled.

Nobody's forcing the TE app. Ideally if nobody is using the TE app, then thats one less thing to worry about. The mobile browser version is always available and does not require installing any additional apps or server side plugins.

@bottle says the TE app works on his blackberry as well. He's tried both the app and the browser, and he seemed more impressed with the browser.

You are not putting forward any new or useful information. I did not want to discuss this matter any further and I made my stand clear in my last post but your one statement (Not expected from a senior staff member) makes me reply again.... You ARE FORCING people to use the TE app. Else why would you disable the TT app access. Let the users decide what suits them. And what about users of Blackberry and Windows phone users. I tried using the TT app to read TE on my Android device but I was not able to. And if your argument is that some people are able to access it on some platforms my query is same again. Why not enable it on all platforms. Let the users decide.
And what content leeching are we talking about???? More than 50% of the new stuff added on TE now a days is stuff picked up from other tech sites. So what leeching are you worried about???

Well vpraveenis asked for an explanation for disabling tapatalk, so that's what I gathered from Renegade. If there's nothing new or useful for you, then what can I say, thats the best I can explain. Also, if you took some time to read my post I already said the app apparently works on blackberry.

BTW, you said :
I will just restrict my access to PC broswers. No additional apps.
And I said :
The mobile browser version is always available and does not require installing any additional apps or server side plugins.

So not sure what you 'did not expect' from my statement, considering I'm saying exactly what you said

your claim that nobody is forcing users to use the TE app. then why disable it on tt. let that continue in parallel of the home app.... if there is no special development efforts reqd for supporting the site on tt app. using it on mobile browsers is pita

Maybe the app works ob BB10 devices/ Playbook via Android app conversion, but BB6 & BB7 at least have no app support as of now - to clarify only.
