Linux Unable to load Win Xp from the boot menu after installing Ubuntu 10.04

Hi guys, i installed Ubuntu 10.04 using the default option during the installation( Install side by side selecting any one of them during startup) .

After installing,, in the boot menu it's showing me Win XP , but selecting that option gives me "GRUB ...."he with a black screen.

$sudo update-grub

Theres only one 60gb Hard disk with 2 partions in it. How do i log in to Win XP ?
