unable to log into windows 8

i am unable to umlock my computer. it is connected via wireless router. on the main screen it shows my windows live username and the display pic but is not accepting the password. i dont even get any alternate methed to unlock it. i have restarted the
computer but still the same .

Unable to boot into safe mode either

I upgraded it yesterday from windows home premium 7

Was able to work on it but accidently locked
 
I hope you realise (and I guess) you need to enter your windows live email password and not your windows 7 account password?

If you're using the right password, type it in but dont press enter, there is a small icon (dot with a curve on top of it) just to the left of the "next" (arrow ->) of the password field that should reveal/display the password to make sure its okay (not a keyboard problem or something)
 
Windows 8 does not accept passwords longer than 16 characters. If your password is longer than 16 characters, enter just the first 16 characters of your password and it should be fine. This is ridiculous though. I think this might be your problem.
