Unable to login steam : Error.. Urgent help needed???

I was inactive on steam for CS: GO since april. Now when i connected the steam, firstly it showed a dialog box saying : loging in <account name> , then suddenly it asked for password, and then finally, when i clicked login again, it keeps on logging in, and in the end it shows an error(pic below) :

Please help what to do My internet is working fine.

Try deleting the file called clientregistry.blob in the steam folder.

i did that..i didnt delete, i cut-pasted the file on desktop, and again i got the same error

Check if your firewall or anti-virus has blocked steam once as well.

I can login through site easily..

I dont have av in my PC..i will check firewall

Delete all files except steam.exe and your steamapps and run .exe. I was facing similar problem last week and it got resolved. It may help you

but will it delete my CS:GO and i will have to download again the whole game using steam?

No, all games are saved inside Steamapps folder, you don't need to delete that.
