Unable to make calls using contacts menu

Hi guys , My friend has got a second hand 6630 two months back, it has a wierd problem i've ever saw, he cannot make call from contacts or Logs. . . Tried updating firmware and also reseting using *#7370# code, nothing worked, it will work for first 5 minutes or so after the phone is restarted, then again same problem, will flashing work out? I took to my local mobile vendor, he told he doesn't 've firmware for 6630, he just clicked 'FACTORY SETTINGS' connecting to that Tornado flasher.. But didn't work out that too.. Any other remedy frenz?
 
I updated the firmware using nokia software updater only at first, no error is shown, not a problem with the call button also because its not working when trying to call using "option, call", tried on different sim too. . . Thats why i call this the WIERDEST problem, because, i'm being using symbian nokia phones for last 5-6 years. . . First time seeing such a problem. . .
 
it cant be solved with any of the updates etc !

my nokia n73 (earlier phone) had the same issue and many people on the internet have it too !

the only solution is replacement.

did you try flashing?
