I am unable to open http://www.letsbuy.com from my desktop machine. My laptop, which is on the same network (at home) is able to connect to that site fine. What might be wrong with my desktop? I don't remember changing any settings here. This is the only site where I am facing an issue, all others work fine.

Did you try opening with some other browser?? Is the result same in that case also??

BTW what browser are you using?? (Doesn't matter in this regard but still)

Well, try clearing cache, cookies etc.

^ Tried IE, Chrome, FF, and Opera. Doesn't matter since I get a 'Unknown host' error when I monitored traffic using Charles.

Well try doing ipconfig /flushdns on command prompt(It may be \ instead of / please verify that)

And then see if there is any entry for letsbuy in Hosts file. As far I remember it resides in C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc

On record.

I have never been able to view this site.

Always get message"Server not found".

I think most people face issue with this site(now I am inclined to think that their server is in China or Pakistan).

Well, I don't think that's the case, first of all I and many other members can view the site without any problem, even some of us have purchased from that site. Don't ask for feedback :P

And @OP can view the site from his laptop, so the problem is something else.

BTW just a second thought, @OP try with some proxy sites, is that site blocked by your firewall or something else?? I don't think it can be an ISP issue, as that's not practical and as you said you are able to browse that site from laptop.

Ohh one more thing, this can prove important test to some experienced user to solve your issue, see if you can ping the site.

^ That's right. The laptop does connect to the site. I remember this site had officially gone down a few days back, but since then I have never been able to view it on one of my machines.

Firewall? Did you check firewall blocking rules? It may be possible that this particular site got added to block list (by mistake)?

^ I don't think Windows Firewall has an option of blocking just a website. Nevertheless, what I did was to disable the firewall altogether and try. Didn't help.

^ Neither ping nor tracert work. As mentioned earlier, I get an 'unknown' host error. Must have something to do with DNS.

Made a workaround using some of the ideas here. First, got the IP of the website from the laptop. Then added an entry into the hosts file in the desktop. Works now :D

Thanks to everyone for pitching in :)

ping from lappy and get ip

^ Tried that already :) Got a request timed out.

Ehh...I cant ping letsbuy.com but can open via browser ....
Cant ping host address as well !

^ its cause I am on office network. :(
So my best guess , Is your comp. ip/dns/proxy(if any) diff. from ur lappy setting ?

Else i conclude that your p.c doesnt want YOU to shop online. It wants you to ,get out of your room and get some fresh air ! :P
