Storage Solutions Unable to partition some space

Helsing

Novice
I have a Seagate 160 GB HDD. I have partitioned it as 40 GB each and had four drives. Later I thought to take out 15GB from the "C:" (so that it would be having 25GB) as the OS partition do not need that much. I did this almost some months ago. I dint remember what is the software or application I used to get this 15GB separated. Now, I want this 15GB to be added with another drive or make it as a separate drive. When I use Acronis Disk Director or Partition Magic, I am unable to get this 15GB to be partitioned (FAT 32 or NTFS). I have the other drives as NTFS. It currently shows the partition type as '0x76....' for this 15GB. What do i do to get that 15 GB space. Pls Help...

well u can have a maximum of 4 partitions per drive

altough u can scrap one partition and then make an extended partition where u can add as much partitions as u like

Try mergin the 15GB back with the C partition n then click C and then choose create partition n see if tat works....

but it came with a software called toshiba cool and u can lower the clock speed of the cpu

i keep it @1.6Ghz mostly

EDIT: i won't recommended the qosmio it's not that good

it's only good for watching movies

Thank you for your suggestion guys. I have only one primary partition, that is C. I have the d, e and f as extended partitions. I have no other problem with my computer. I believe that there is some issue with the space (15 GB) which is deleted. Because it shows the partition type as '0x76 .. bla bla'. I am not able to add this 15 GB with any of the partitions (c,d,e and f). And I am not able to make it as a separate extended partition too. As I said, I have tried different hard disk management applications and tried with the 'Disk Management' of Windows XP too. I believe that this could be resolved only by formatting the hard disk. However, I wish to know whether any other way is there. Pls help..

i believe partition magic can do this

because i had to take out 20 GB from os drive and add it to and extended partition i used partition magic and it worked

Faced almost same kinda prob. Wouldnt work with Acronis.

Had a WinXP DVD which has option to boot from DVD and run partition magic 8. Went there, merged, worked :D
