Unable To Play games in full screen after windows update

I am not able to play any of my games in full screen after an installing windows update.The update is from ATI for 3400 cards.All my games start in full screen but the game area is limited to 75%of the screen .I tired uninstalling the update and drivers ,but still nogo.

One more thing to note here my max resolution earlier was 1024x768 but after this update its gone to 1280x800 :S.Please help me fix the issue TIA

Thats the issue, update the monitor drivers should fix the issue.

man im facing the same prob...i hve hp dv6000 ...but strangely my friend had no prob n i did the same as he did but dnt knw y its not working for me :{

remove the drivers for gfx card and forcefully install generic driver for gfx card in safe mode ... then install drivers from Graphics Drivers & Software

If u can then install Win7 in VHD file and test if it works there or restore your laptop to factory defaults

I tried all possible steps even did a reinstall of OS , a bit happy now some games it good but for some games the issues is the same.

^ then u should check about those specific games ... may be patch released for ATI gfx cards
