Hello,
I only have SBI net-banking available.
I am able to add my SBI account properly in PhonePe and GPAY, but i am unable to setup UPI pin or continue further as it requires a debit card.
But I do not have a SBI debit card, is there anyway i can proceed ?

Need UPI urgently, as need to make few payments to TE members via same ?

You need debit card to enable UPI. Once enabled, you can go ahead and cancel the debit card.

Alternately, do check if you can register to UPI using virtual credit card generated from SBI netbanking.

SBI disabled virtual cards due to tokenization, read about same on this forum.
You don't have debit card? How do you use ATM?
Had a maestro debit card years back which got expired never renewed after same.
Dont use atm, mostly netbanking is useful for my work/personal use.
I am shopoholic hence, stopped debit/credit card usage brother has credit/debit cards, prefer to transfer to his account first them limit my purchases.

Using brothers card for small payments on TE, thought it could be easier to make a UPI account for myself which can be used to send/receive payments quickly.

You have two options if you are unable to do UPI from your SBI Account,
-Since you have SBI netbanking, take bank ac details of TE members you want to pay, create beneficiary in SBI online and then pay via either NEFT or IMPS.
NEFT fund transfer will be credited within half an hour and IMPS credit will be instant.
-For App purchase on google play store, you can buy a recharge code of various amount from amazon and add balance to your play store and then purchase the app.

OR Create a PayTM payments bank account on PAYTM app and use it for UPI
Transfer funds to this account whenever needed from SBI netbanking

I understand but in a moment of emergency when you have no other recourse and you require some cash like immediately you should at least have a debit card.
Being a shopoholic doesn't mean you'll cut off basic necessities. Not to offend you but try to control yourself, the problem is you not the debit card.

Have you cancelled your debit card yourself because bank cannot cancel without your permission. Debit cards are auto renewed. During last quarter of the card expiry, head office sends new card to your branch. Now its the branch's responsibility to inform you. Check your statement thoroughly whether there's any card maintenance charge.

From this point on, here's what I'd do.
I'd open kotak 811, axis asap etc etc. account online. You open these from the comfort of your home and they don't have any minimum balance requirement and there are no charges. Many banks have these kinds of savings accounts.

I have good experience with kotak 811 and bad one with axis asap. If you open kotak 811, you'll have a working debit card (although virtual at the moment) in 5 minutes. And you can register for UPI right away. Physical debit card will arrive at your doorsteps in a few days. Transfer money from your sbi account to kotak using IMPS.

Another thing, you should never have only one woking bank account. You always should have your balance divided into a few different savings accounts. Anytime a bank can go belly up, or offline or something. So it's not financially advisable to keep all the eggs in the same basket.

Maestro debit cards don't expire.
Try to find that Maestro card. See if it has any Valid Upto date.
As far as I remember, SBI used to issue Maestro cards which were perpetual use and had only a Valid From date.

There are various guides online on how to register for UPI using such Maestro cards (since UPI PIN setup asks for CVV and Valid Till date printed on card, neither of which are available on the SBI Maestro debit cards)

Did you try BHIM? Amazon Pay?

SBI YONO also has UPI built in.

If your monthly expenditure using UPI won't exceed 10k, then you could use fampay? I mean, the target demography for this group is mainly teenagers however it does have UPI that works without any limitations (except ofcourse the monthly limit). All that is needed is adhaar connected with your phone number, and you can add your balance by netbanking as well. Afaik Fampay is a clever marketing firm for IDFC First Bank for it's Minor Banking Instruments. (https://fampay.in/terms Turns out there's far more details, but no need for debit card as far as I can tell)

This might be helpful, I mostly require UPI for small payments only (FOR LARGER AMOUNTS prefer only netbanking) to other members and buying apps via google play store.
If fampay allows me to fill the wallet with 5000 INR, using netbanking. (will these 5000 say secure for longer time, till i finish the entire 5k wallet balance)
(Can i get my own UPI id (to send/receive money), which can help me make transactions across gpay/phonepe/other upi apps/mobile numbers/upi id of te members mostly ?)

Hello guys, just an update got a new debit card and issues with both phonpe and gpay are resolved.

However I noticed,
I am able to make money transfer to a contacts mobile number using Gpay
But
Not able to make transfer to same mobile number using Phonepe.

I came to understand this contact is using gpay (registered his bank/card using gpay) and never used phonepe..
I hope this is normal and no issues at my end ?

Your guess is right. Not all people use all UPI apps. But you can still send money from your phonepe to his gpay. Ask the guy his UPI id shown in gpay. And inside your phonepe, send money to this UPI id instead of the phone number. UPI id are cross platform.

She is my cousin (non-techie) she has no idea about her UPI id, I made a 1 Rupee transfer to her account using GPAY and it worked fine (send money to her mobile number not any UPI ID).

Then tried to make 1 Rupee transfer to her via PhonePe (using her mobile number) but this did not worked.
She never registered with Phonepe and probably this was issue sending to her mobile number using phonepe..
