use mobile with IR Blaster.
I use Redmi 4A (home mobile) to control my TV, STB, AC.

I have seen people making a DIY IR blaster and connecting to phone via 3.5mm jack and control using zaza remote app. Not sure whether it works or not.

If you'd like a more configurable option, you could go the DIY route and make a wifi infrared bridge using a charger, an ESP8266 module and a few IR leds:

For example, I have one set as a timer that turns on the AC for a few minutes every hour.

Or you could just buy a ready-made IR bridge that has it's own app.

Yup thinking of going for the homemate one. DIY sounds nice but I have zero soldering skill.
