HEY fellas,

attachment.php

The 6.4 kBps download u can see in the picture is absolutely out of my control and i

don't know how it is happening !

I know when utorrent is idle, it uses bandwidth something like 1~2 kBps but >6kBps ?

thanks

:)

I suppose you all can see the download/upload info bar ??...the above part(which is useless) of the pic is white so it got mixed with the white background and hence unrecognizable !....or u can't see anything?????

I uploaded the picture on TE and used the picture link provided :)

First of all disable the DHT, if you are running only private tracker torrents then no need of dht. Are you idle in that screenshot ? or are you uploading something. The 6.4KB/s is the overhead acknowledgment packets download rate.It shows the total amount of download. Total download = actual download of some file + the acknowledgment packets and other communication rate.

To check, disable your dht, disconnect your net, reconnnect back. Stop the torrents before doing that. Once you are online check if the utorrent is showing some activity. It shouldnt.

Thanks but I already have NETLIMITER ..which is quite good

Secondly if I limit the download to something like 1 kBps.. then my uploading also stops :(

I am uploading 5 torrents in the screenshot(sorry for writing idle in the thread post:ashamed:)

If I stop all the torrents ... download - 0.5~1 kBps and upload - 0 kBps

Usually what happens is even if you stop the torrents, the peers keep on connecting to you as your ip is still active in their database. This minimal amount will count towards your download rate.It will be in 1-2KB/s . If you want to completely stop it, then disconnect your net and connect back. It will show "0" activity.

No it shouldnt. Its not something which is downloaded as such to your harddrive(more like downloaded to your ram). Its just amount of data coming to your pc from other peers (kinda like hi,hello I am looking for this piece of this torrent, do you have it ?) which is discarded by the application after reading it. But it will count towards your bandwidth.

The client also interacts with the trackers so you get residual DL/UL though nothing is thrashed to the actual torrent folders.
