heck, I wouldnt even mind paying 1.8k per month for 512Kbps true unlimted connection.

I am paying 1000 Rs on Airtel Home 999 plan with speeds of 512 kpbs at night from 11 pm to 7:00 am... there is no way I am going to pay 1800 Rs just for 512 mbps connection... Thats like paying 40 dollars per month for a 1/2 mb connection. Thats a huge ripoff.

I doubt that they are going to make 512 kbps standard in forseeable future.... reason? In India, jab chalta hai toh why change attitude of folks. I think this thread has no future just like Bajaj Pulsar 250 thread. Guys will keep waiting and dreaming (my feeling). On paper they already have 512 limited bandwidth plan, and if you call your ISP they would say why do you need more than 1 GB for home user? Get the point.

Ya this was exactly what the mtnl guy told me when i asked why have 1 GB download limit?? He said that's all is needed and i could even send 200 e-mails and download 500 images.

But then we don't want to buy what they are selling... If you dig deep with these sales person then you will notice that they don't know anything more than the pamphlat they are swinging on you face...

These fools don't even know what an avid user is doing with the internet & even a 1Mbps connection is worthless for some... I my self want more than 1Mbps with unlimited downloads...

Thats why I go on a front foot asking them what do they care????...!!

^dont generalize guys..there are a few in CC who know what they talk...;)

& i agree that there are few..who got no idea what they talk abt..

me too think the same...512kbps for 1800 is expensive . . . .

But there is nothin we can do abt it...:(

anyways dont be stuck at the 1800 mark, its just an estimate by one user here, we dunno yet about the pricing or if there will even be a 512kbps unltd line coming

They're going to introduce new UL plans as well as reduce the rate for current ones. I would expect the current 256kbps 900UL plan to be revised as 700UL and 512kbps UL plan introduced for 1200/- per month.

soulfire India is not snails........its the babudom.
things will change quiteswiftly.

I used to use regularly used to use 2 MBPS on my pc 7 or 8 months ago.....and i live in a remote suburb.

by the time we shift to 512 k the defintion of true broadband will have changed...

Quoted for TRUTH.

I'm so starved for true broadband, I could pay upto 2k for 512 kbps unlm (and yes, 512 is classified as the minimum most speed in true broadband). Think I'm insane? Blame our Indian ISPs. 256 is crap now.

I am corrently using 512 k connection at cost of 445 rupees per month in punjab with free timing 11:00 pm to 9:00 am (10 hours) and 400 MB for rest of time data transfer limit that i think is quite cheap as you guys are ready to pay 2k for u/l. The service is fantastic even 50 voice calls are free in this price and there is no security deposit to be paid. customer care is extremely user friendly and prompt (within 4 hours) this is quite contrast to the situation six months earlier as the only option available was the bsnl dialup ie so called 56 kbps. Life is now good for those who were using that for 10 years now.
