Tikona and Spectranet are both not very reliable or so I've heard. You can try Airtel.
sadly you dont get Airtel here and I dont like their plans that much. 1400 for 30gb and 1700rs for 80GB. Spectranet is very good here. Tried and Tested it personally. I did the same with Tikona. They gave a demo.

@blackperl and @kapilove77 there you go :D
Its a 2mbps Unlimited plan no FUP for 1160 (incl. tax) monthly.
But in the first connection you need to play 3100rs in advance for 2 months.
Installation charge 750rs.
Effective installation charge post rebate something something 500rs.
Tax approx 12%.

But this is a wireless, WiMax, connection. They put up a device on the terrace and then from that device a lan wire is connected to adapter and then another wire from adapter to computer. I'm lucky because a tower is there in Street 26 just 3 blocks away from where I live.

If I don't got out for vacation this winter then I'll upgrade my plan to 4mbps for 1680 monthly.
There are also other plans like Quarterly, Half-yearly, Annual but difference is only in reduction of Installation charge. Free installation charge for Annual plans.[DOUBLEPOST=1379746966][/DOUBLEPOST]I forgot to say something: LET THE TORRENTING BEGIN!!!!! :D :D[DOUBLEPOST=1379747228][/DOUBLEPOST]
Failtel service is surely the best but their post fup speed is only 256k and that is not broadband anymore which is unacceptable.
Personally that is not bad for browsing only. Even my friend in north campus does the same after using up his 30gb limit. He has now upgraded to 80GB.

i know about about WI-max and tikona as they have booster/repeater the front of my room but i prefer stable connection ,otherwise i can go unlimited mtnl 3G which has 200GB download with 2-3 mbps speed in 1650
and as i know tikona provide his connection by WiFi not by wi-max ! sorry if i m wrong :D

read it carefully "ADULM2048 (50GB per month)"
http://tikona.in/gallery/tariff-plan-national.pdf
Fair Usage Limit is applicable on the Unlimited Usage Plans: ADULM2048 (50GB per
month
), ADULM4096 (80GB per month), ADULQ750K (90GB in three months),
ADULQ1024 (90GB in three months), ADULQ2048 (150GB in three months),
ADULQ4096 (240GB in three months), ADULH300K (180GB in six months),
ADULH512K (180GB in six months), ADULH750K (180GB in six months), ADULH1024
(180GB in six months), ADULH2048 (300GB in six months), ADULH4096 (480GB in
six months), ADULA1024 (360GB in twelve months), ADULA2048 (600GB in twelve
months) and ADULA4096 (960GB in twelve months). Contention ratio increases post
fair usage consumption, although there is no limit on usage. This may result in speed
reduction only during the peak hours.

Bad news. Just heard that this plan actually has 50GB FUP. Its not given on the chart but a friend said this
"yep! same plan.i realized that after downloading 50 gigs and then speeds fluctuated.called up customer care, called there is a fup of 50 gigs".

@blackperl i heard it just now. OMG
I regret to say this but i cannot get the refund anymore. Just one question, how much speed will i get after 50GB FUP?
Gawd I'm so gonna kill that tikona guy! FFUUUUUUUUUUU

BTW please tell me about that MTNL plan.mtnl 3G which has 200GB download with 2-3 mbps speed in 1650
Confirmed that its true? :/

there are many thread about 3G MTNL ,u can see them to confirm it !! its 200GB 1650rs /month
Its 3g,so speeds will fluctuate and pings will be terrible, first check your area for signal strength before buying..

Also after 200 gb internet will stop working completely. There is no FUP, net will just stop working.

A small update.
I talked to Tikona people. I was told that the secondary speed would be 1-2mbps. Under FUP its always 2mbps.
I'm a little worried coz I'm used up around 42-43GB/50GB limit and my next plan refill would be 19th-20th Oct. Still weeks to go. :(

One more thing: playing browser-based games with movable characters viz. facebook zynga's games like "<insert first name here> ville" eat a huge chunk of data.
