Re: help me for unlock phenon2 555be

tell me the batch of your processor !

i unlocked mine about 2 weeks ago !

the system wont perform well in windows7 64bit ! but worked perfectly for 32bit and windows xp !

but it booted in all of them !

i think you have faulty cores !

fist try with other windows !

if unseccesful ! underclock to 2.8 ghz !

and try again !

some times undervolting or overvolting does the trick !

keep fidgiting till you get success !! :)

my x3 435 also didnt work well with ACC set to "AUTO"..but it did boot and windows recognized it as an amd engineering sample and cpuz reported as amd twkr edition with 1.503v vcore and gave bsod about a minute later.

but it did unlock n stable after setting ACC to "ALL CORES" or "PER CORE" with HT 1.6Ghz.

i dont know about giga mobos but i believe its there and u cud give it a try.

also if u have a faulty core, you can easily unlock the other good core and get atleast a phenom x3 using the "PER CORE" option in ACC

good luck

my processor batch no. 1004BPMW i am using two os 1st is window xp and 2nd is window 7 64bit plz suggest me how to unlock it

just curious
why do you want to unlock the cpu when you haven't got a minimum decent card to compliment it in games!!:S
if you want to unlock just for the hell of it, go ahead
but be advised that this will void the warranty of processor,
not to mention the extra temps it will post if your case isn't well ventilated!!

What people don't realize is that the X2 550/555BE is typically a dual core processor and it may unlock to a quad core or tri-core processor for a particular batch of processors. Many people seem to think that X2 and X3 processors *have* to unlock and feel cheated when they don't unlock.

On what basis are you saying that the warranty will be void if you unlock the core ?

I dont think there is anyway AMD can identify unlocking except if your temps go out of control & it leaves burn marks on the CPU.

Cores can easily be unlocked & then relocked also in case of instability AFAIK

Am I wrong ?

unlocking is by software and no hardware change is made.

remove the cpu and it will be as it was when you bought it..they way amd configured it.

dont misguide others with baseless claims.

The cpu is not going to unlocking to something extra terrestrial chip.. it will just be another 955BE unofficially. and those who want to unlock would probably have checked their board for 125-140TDP support.

moreover, the cpu shuts off once it reaches certain temperature, burning days are to be considered when you apply voltages beyond amd's specification... which would not be the case just with unlocking the cores.

PS: Warranty will not be void by unlocking.. if that was the case then board makers wouldnt even dare supporting unlocking as a feature.. warranty voids due to physical damage (including burning) which is irrelevant to unlocking to begin with. what you do beyond unlocking is your responsibility anyways.
